SEE model papers

Full practice papers for the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) in Science and Technology, made to CDC’s specification grid: the same sections, marks, units and kinds of question as the real paper. Every question has a model answer and a marking scheme.

The SEE science paper

The SEE paper in Science and Technology is set to CDC’s Specification Grid 2080: 75 marks in 3 hours, 40 questions in four sections, and every question compulsory. Each unit has its share of the marks, set by how long it is taught, and the questions are spread over four levels: remembering a fact (knowledge), explaining it (understanding), using it in a new situation (application), and analysing, judging or creating (higher ability).

The papers here are new, written by us to the same grid: each section’s and each unit group’s total exactly as in the grid, each unit within 2 marks of its share (none left out), and the same number of questions at each level. A 2- or 4-mark question earns one mark for each point expected, so its marking scheme lists exactly that many points.

Marks for each unit

Within a group, a unit’s marks may move by up to 2 either way, but the group’s total stays the same. Source: CDC, Specification Grid 2080, Grade 10 Science and Technology.
