Saturn V - LEGO Model
← All Exhibits
A model of the Saturn V, the most powerful rocket ever successfully flown, shows the towering, multi-stage design NASA used to launch astronauts all the way to the Moon. The real Saturn V stood about 111 metres tall and carried the Apollo 11 crew on the first mission to land humans on the Moon in 1969.
Building it from LEGO is a reminder that even the most complex machines are assembled from many smaller parts working together.
To explore the Moon and the rest of the solar system yourself, try Explore with NASA: fly along with spacecraft, find the Apollo landing sites on Moon Trek, and see where the Space Station is right now.
