Static Electricity

← All Exhibits

These lightweight foam beads respond dramatically to electric charge. When static electricity builds up, the beads can be attracted, repelled and made to jump or cling to surfaces.

The effect comes from electric forces between charged objects. Because the beads are so light, even a small electrostatic force can move them easily.
