Chaotic Pendulum
← All Exhibits Book a Visit
This double pendulum — a pendulum swinging from the end of another pendulum — moves in a way that never quite repeats itself, tracing an endlessly changing pattern from what looks like a very simple starting setup.
You can see it in action at the Science Playground. It is indeed mesmerizing.
