The sixteen circles.
Puzzles that fool the eye
Coffer illusion
This is a ceiling of panels. Can you also find some circles?
There are sixteen, in four rows of four: each column between the panels is really a circle. Once you have seen them, it is hard to stop seeing them.
Why? Your brain groups what it sees into the simplest things it knows, here rectangles. The circles are made of the same panels, so they hide. Anthony Norcia drew the first one in 2006.
