A Hand in the Waves
← All Exhibits
This picture is only black and white wavy lines, yet a hand seems to rise out of it.
Where the lines bend, your brain reads them as the surface of a curved object, the same way contour lines on a map show hills. No shading is needed: the direction of the lines alone creates the 3D shape.
